Tech issues

If i knew how to redirect this blog to wordpress i would do it in an instant, something is wrong with my posts not being updated to blog lists, not happy jan.
So firstly there is a link to bloglovin which everyone is doing so I hopped on that band wagon.
Secondly if there is no solution to this problem I WILL get this blog redirected, so dont be alarmed if you land on wordpress, its still me :) So please come over to wordpress its better, believe me!

It seems my posts are not being published or at least I cant seem to see them in my dashboard list, this is very annoying, not sure what to do about it ! any help would be appreciated ! let me know if you are getting the posts in your reader

Thats Entertainment !

Its been a fun week, my son and I made a snap decision to see ZZ top and Guns n Roses which was great, although those guys are getting on a bit ! I loved ZZ top, but not a real fan of GnR, that was my son :0 I had to put in ear plugs !!

We also saw a well known comedian Wil Anderson on Friday, who was very funny, quite rude too ! We had seats a couple of rows back which was fantastic, thank god we were not in the front row, those people really were picked on ! It has been a fun time, we also stayed in a very nice hotel with a lovely view of the river, which was nice at night.

Blog hop party

Michelle from quilting gallery is hosting another blog hop party with give aways, yay ! 

I have just finished a quilt for a work collegue, she has just had a birthday, so I thought this might make her feel snuggly when its cool here :) She will laugh at that as she is from Finland!  Its got a bit of an Aussie theme in the quilting, lots of swirls and flowers, frangipanis and the squares on the back are in green and gold, for our country :)

Easy peasy pin wheels

Finally after two weeks of pouring rain we had a some of the concreting done :) The concrete pipe was fed through from the front door out to the back!

I won't bore you with more renos.

Instead here is my easy way to do pin wheels, well i think it was easy :)

Start with two squares of different fabric, mine were 10" layer cake,

 cut them across both diagonals without moving them after the first cut :)

You will end up with four 1/4 square triangles from each piece of fabric 

which you then make up like the one below

making sure you have two matching pieces opposite each other

separate the halves and sew two 1/4 triangles right sides together to make two 1/2 square triangles as shown below, all seams are 1/4"

sew the two HST together so you end up with the formation below

then carefully cut them again to make four squares

dont move them after the first cut so the second one is accurate, again :)

and then you will have this

So all you need to do is rotate two of the squares so that you end up with this

sew two of the squares together as you can see below

and repeat for the other two, 

then sew the two rectangles right sides together matching seams so the points will meet, 

using a 1/4 " seam allowance.

And voila here it is !

 

I hope you like this way to do pin wheels, I did get myself muddled a couple of times when not concentrating and ended up with odd ones !

this is the quilt top done with this method, then set on point,

 next post I will show you how to do this an easy way as well :)

Renovation mess

It's a disaster zone here at the moment, the concrete has been demolished around the pool and my garden has been ripped to shreds. Also silly husband has cut down some palms, which did look lovely,  and now it looks really terrible, so I am a bit depressed. I'm not a fan of palms normally, but I made an exception for these ones. Hopefully when all is done it will look ok, I will do some more planting. I'm in a fug. I know there are more important things to worry about, but I just wish there was a bit more consideration and sense in the man's head. Sorry about the whinge, I will get better. I will do some sewing on the weekend to take my mind off it all. Hope your week is going ok.
